Rutherford Unplugged

Rutherford Bar. 20:00 to 23:00

Open Mic nights return under the new name of Rutherford Unplugged.

There will be plenty of spaces in our line-up for you to cheekily borrow a guitar and sing on the spur of the moment... If you want to book yourself a slot, email cjw36@kent.ac.uk and we'll see what we can do, or you can turn up on the night. Due to restrictions, we can only have acoustic sets and no drum kits (electric guitars are fine if you don't own an acoustic, but no noisy, overdriven mentalness please. Sorry, apparently it's a management thing...).

Alt / Folk Night

Woodys Bar. 20:00 to 23:00

On March 12th, we are putting on an Alt/Folk night at Woodys, with some very talented musicians lined up.

Craters offer a mix of Acoustic, Bluegrass and Comedy, and will be up second.

And finally veteran Open Mic artist Adam Sampson will finish off with a set.

Live Music Jam Session and Social

Rutherford Bar

Many of you fine people have been contacting us asking if we can hook you up with some like-minded musicians, so we decided to organise something special for you...

We're holding a joint social/jam session in Rutherford Bar, and (due to the lack of available seminar rooms) the general corridor and quad areas around that part of Rutherford. Come along to have a few drinks and for the opportunity to meet some musicians, then head off round to a quieter space to see if you can be like John and Paul, or if you'll end up more like John and Edward.

We'll try and sort some drinks offers so that it's cheaper for you to lose your inhibitions before playing music with a bunch of strangers.

See you there :)

LMS Presents: a.genuine.freakshow @ The Farmhouse

The Farmhouse, Canterbury

Sign up to the event on Facebook!

On March 1st your local Live Music Soc is bringing you a fantastic night at the Farmhouse with two stonkingly brilliant bands.

Supporting is UKC's finest student musical maelstrom, History of the Trade. You might have seen them play for us in Freshers' Week, but we decided that they deserved a more upmarket venue. Have a listen here: www.myspace.com/historyofthetrade
