Welcome new students!

If you're just starting out at Kent, welcome! If you're coming back for another year.. well, you know. We already have some great events lined up for you in Welcome Week and the first term, check out the Events page for details. We'll also be running a stall during the Societies Fayre, so come and meet the new committee and grab some free stuff while you're there. If our society sounds like its your kind of thing, its just £3 to join and you can do so at the Mandela building (behind The Venue) or online at Kent Union's website. Membership of the Live Music Society gets you a whole host of drinks deals, discounts and more so its well worth a few quid.

Towards the end of last year we held our annual general meeting, thanks to everyone who turned up to vote, or stood for election. Congratulations to the new committee:

- Anna Elizabeth Revell, Treasurer
- Adam Josef K Hamilton, Publicity Officer
We are still looking for a Tech Sec and a Webmaster if anyone is interested. Tech Sec duties include supervising the set up of equipment at the start of nights, running the sound system during the night and liasing with Kent Tech. Webmaster duties include maintaining and improving our website (you will need knowledge of HTML/CSS/PHP/MySQL).
The new committee has lots of big plans for next year, and look forward to meeting both new and returning students at the Societies Fair.

With just two weeks left of Spring Term, we are holding our elections for next years committee very soon at our Annual General Meeting (date to be announced in our weekly newsletter). Some of this years committee are leaving this year to go get real jobs, so this is your chance to seize power!
All 7 positions (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Tech Sec, Publicity and Webmaster) are up for election, so if you're interested in running or want more information send a message to cjw36@kent.ac.uk or sam39@kent.ac.uk.
