Kieran Williams, President
Our (almost) fearless leader, Kieran brings his unique blend of managerial skills and debauchery to the role of President this year. He has pledged to lift the society to ever loftier heights, whilst keeping up his unusual guitar-strumming technique.
James Tanner, Vice-President
The bearer of a fantastic ginger beard, James was previously the LMS tech secretary. With a lot of ties to local bands and ever-present at Live Music events, James swept to victory as VP in last years AGM. He will be focusing on organising events this year, so if you would like to perform at one of our events, address your grovelling to him.
Anna Elizabeth Revell, Treasurer
The guardian of the treasure, Anna will be keeping an eye on the pennies this year, hopefully resisting the urge to indulge in shoe shopping. A purveyor of fine parasols and well-travelled young lady, Anna brings her beauty and newfound financial acumen to LMS finances.
Adam Josef K Hamilton, Publicity Officer
Propagandist extraordinaire and booker of events, Adam can most often be found discussing obscure instrumental music, drinking black coffee, reading Kafka or complaining about something meaningless. He tries to avoid being defined as a filthy hipster, but there really is no escaping it. His friends call him Grizzly Bear, Grizzly Man, Grizzly, Grizz or Wanker, depending on what kind of day they’re having.
Vacant positions
Due to most of the committee graduating last year, we are still looking for people to fill a few positions. Additionally, if you would like to help out at events, we welcome participation from members. All committee positions are elected to each year, and only current University of Kent students who are paid society members may occupy committee positions. If you are not based at the Canterbury campus, you will need to be able to travel to it at least once a week to attend events and/or committee meetings.
Technical Secretary
Duties include supervising equipment setup at the start of nights, running the sound system during the night and liasing with Kent Tech. While other committee members may be able to assist, you should have a good knowledge of how to operate sound systems.
Webmaster
Webmaster duties include maintaining and improving our website (you will need knowledge of HTML/CSS/PHP/MySQL).
